How to share Coppermind with other fractional CMOs and track your referrals.

Every Coppermind account gets a personal referral link:

https://coppermind.app/r/your-code

Your referral code is a short, memorable string based on your name (e.g., laura-m, ben-f). When someone visits your link, Coppermind remembers you sent them - even if they do not sign up right away. The referral cookie lasts 30 days.

To see your referral link and code:

"Show me my account info"

Your referral code appears in the account details alongside your usage and subscription information.

Sharing With Your Network#

The best places to share Coppermind are the communities where other fractional CMOs hang out - Slack groups like Fractionals United, CMO Coffee Talk, LinkedIn, or direct email recommendations to colleagues.

Here are ready-to-use messages for common channels:

Slack or Online Communities#

I've been using Coppermind to manage my client context - it's like having a second brain for CMO work. Try it: https://coppermind.app/r/your-code

LinkedIn#

A longer post works well here. Focus on a specific problem Coppermind solved for you - walking into a meeting fully prepped, never losing context when switching between clients, or having perfect recall of what was decided three months ago.

Email to a Colleague#

Hey - thought of you when I started using this tool called Coppermind. It's an AI memory layer for fractional CMOs - stores client context, preps meeting briefs, tracks commitments across your portfolio. I've been using it for [X weeks/months] and it's changed how I prep for calls. Here's my referral link if you want to try it: https://coppermind.app/r/your-code

Tracking Your Referrals#

To see who you have referred and their status:

"Show me my referrals"

This returns a summary of everyone who signed up through your link:

Your Referrals:

1. J*** K*** - Activated (created first mind) - April 15
2. S*** M*** - Signed Up - April 18

Total: 2 referrals, 1 activated, 0 converted

Referral statuses:

StatusWhat It Means
Signed UpThey created an account through your link
ActivatedThey created their first client mind
ConvertedThey became a paying customer

Referred users' names are partially redacted for privacy.

How Attribution Works#

When someone clicks your referral link:

  1. A cookie is set in their browser with your referral code (lasts 30 days)
  2. If they sign up during that window, you are credited as the referrer
  3. You get a notification when the referral signs up

If someone clicks multiple referral links from different people, the most recent one gets credit. If someone already has a Coppermind account, clicking a referral link has no effect - there is no double-attribution.

Tips#

  • Share when the moment is right. The best referrals happen when a fellow CMO complains about losing client context or walking into meetings unprepared. That is the natural opening.
  • Share your specific experience. Generic "try this tool" messages get ignored. Mention a specific moment Coppermind helped you - a meeting brief that nailed it, a follow-up email that referenced something from months ago.
  • Do not overthink it. A simple Slack message in a community you are already active in is the most effective channel. No need for elaborate campaigns.
