Deep Research Mode (Agency Tier)
What you'll accomplish#
Deep Research Mode synthesizes a comprehensive multi-page analysis from your client memories—the kind of strategic document that would take 6-8 hours for a consultant to produce manually. Use this when you need to understand a client deeply: before a board presentation, when positioning for a new market, or when evaluating a major strategic shift.
Each Agency-tier account gets 5 deep research reports per month. The reset happens on the first day of the next calendar month.
Steps#
- Open Coppermind and switch to the client you want to analyze deeply.
- Think about what you're actually investigating. Examples:
- "What are Acme's biggest competitive vulnerabilities in the SMB market?"
- "How does Acme's brand perception among enterprise buyers compare to what they're telling us?"
- "Where are the gaps between Acme's stated strategy and what we're actually seeing in their campaigns?"
- In Coppermind, search for Deep Research. Look for a tool labeled "Deep Research" or search for the term "deep" in your tool list.
- Provide your research question. Be specific. "Run deep research on Acme" is vague. "What are the top 3 product-market fit risks Acme hasn't articulated?" is a real question.
- Wait 30-60 seconds while Coppermind synthesizes. Deep Research scans across all your stored memories, identifies patterns, and generates a structured analysis with sections like:
- Key findings
- Supporting evidence (with specific dates and context)
- Gaps or contradictions
- Recommended next actions
- Review the output. It's formatted as a document you can copy, edit, and share. Use it as-is for internal planning, or adapt it into a client presentation.
Tracking your usage#
You'll see your monthly count in Coppermind: "Deep Research: 3/5 used." When you hit the limit, Deep Research will show a preview of what the report would contain, plus an explanation that you've used your monthly allocation. The counter resets on the 1st of the next month.
Troubleshooting#
"Deep Research isn't available" — Deep Research is an Agency-tier feature. Check your subscription level. If you're on Pro, you'll see a preview of what Deep Research produces but won't be able to run a full report. Upgrade to Agency to unlock it.
"I got a preview instead of a full report" — You've used all 5 reports for this month. The preview shows what the full report would include. Wait until the 1st of next month or upgrade your plan.
"The research doesn't match what I know about this client" — Deep Research synthesizes from memories you've stored. If key facts aren't in Coppermind yet (a recent market research finding, a stakeholder conversation), Deep Research won't have them. Add those memories first, then run research again next month.
Next steps#
- Use Deep Research reports to brief your team or inform strategy discussions
- Feed high-confidence findings into your client briefings or board presentations
- Store the generated research as a memory so it becomes part of the client's permanent record
